Family and friends surrounded Pine Bluff High School linebacker and fullback Curtis Standoak Jr., as he signed his national letter of intent to play NCAA DIII football at Cornell College in Iowa for the fall.

The 5’10 220 Sr took all of his college visits, but was most impressed by the Rams. When asked why he chose Cornell, Standoak said “They actually contacted me, and I just put my film out there, waited and trusted in the Lord…they showed me so much gratitude and love…It was a no-doubter…”

Standoak contributed to Zebras defense posting 50 tackles, 10 tackles for loss, and a forced fumble. He also stepped in around mid-season to help fulfill a need at fullback, the position he wants to pursue in college.

Head Coach Rod Stinson praised Standoak’s commitment to do whatever was needed, “He was willing to do it,” Stinson said. “Those are the types of kids you want to bank on, those who are going to work hard and do what you want them to do. I’m extremely proud of him. He’s a smart kid, 3.0 student, good family, so I know he’s going to do well on the next level.”

Standoak joins teammate Bradley Clark in signing on to play collegiate football in the fall. Clark signed with the University of Central Arkansas earlier this semester.
