A proposed ordinance to create a special fund for the HIDTA (High-Intensity Drug Trafficking Area) in Jefferson County was recommended for approval by two committees of the Quorum Court Tuesday night.
Jefferson County Sheriff Lafayette Woods Jr. explained the proposed ordinance to Deltaplex News.

A total of $1,340 that is currently in the Tri-County Drug Task Force fund will be transferred to the new account.
Woods was asked about the background of HIDTA and responded this way.
