A Pine Bluff women was arrested Monday after she allegedly tried to smuggle contraband into the adult detention center.

Jail Administrator Maj. Tyra Tyler contacted Lt. Yohance Brunson of the Tri-County Drug Task Force after receiving information that a person would be entering the jail at 5:00pm driving a gray vehicle, and Brunson set up surveillance.

At 5:03pm, a silver Volvo pulled up and Aisha Murray, 23, got out and entered the jail, stayed a short time and then left in the vehicle.  At 8:00pm, Murray came back and entered a restroom.  After she left the restroom, she was detained by Brunson.

Asked if she had brought anything illegal into the jail, Murray stated that she had brought tobacco in.

Investigators located a bag containing tobacco, two lighters, rolling papers and several plastic baggies containing a total of 1.2 ounces of suspecting marijuana.  The suspected drugs will be sent to the Arkansas State Crime Laboratory for analysis.

On Wednesday, Pine Bluff District Judge John Kearney set a $20,000 bond for Murray after ruling prosecutors have probable cause to charge her with furnishing prohibited articles.
