A Pine Bluff woman was arrested Sunday after she allegedly shot at another woman during an altercation.

Kandace Dickson, 29, allegedly admitted firing shots at the other woman but told police the two were shooting at each other.

Deputy Prosecutor Karres Manning said police were sent to Hazel Street Food Mart at about 11 p.m. to investigate a possible aggravated assault. The alleged victim said she had gone to the store to buy cigarettes and was there when Dickson arrived. She said she and Dickson had recently had a quarrel and said Dickson shot at her before leaving.

The alleged victim gave police a description of the car Dickson was driving, and they located it and conducted a traffic stop. A records check showed that she had a suspended driver’s license and after waving her rights, said the alleged victim had also shot at her.

Detective Keith Banks reported that video from the store showed Dickson stepping out of camera range, then showed her firing shots at the victim who was seen appearing to duck.

Pine Bluff District Judge John Kearney set a $25,000 bond for Dickson after ruling prosecutors have probable cause to charge her with aggravated assault.

Dickson, who said she would hire her own attorney, was ordered to have no contact with the alleged victim until the case is settled.
