Jerrod Williams made the decision to stay as Sheridan School District Superintendent after he was not granted the opportunity to take over Searcy School District.

Williams was amongst one of the four finalists for the next Searcy Superintendant but the board of education chose the previous Superintendant of Hope Dr. Bobby Hart for the position.

According to sources, Williams said that the decision to apply for Searcy wasn’t easy because of his love of being a part of the Yellowjacket Nation but made the decision for personal reasons. Despite not being chosen for the position Williams added that he is content with the outcome.

The Sheridan School Board ultimately voted to extend Williams’s contract to continue to run the district until 2024.
