The White Hall Police Department participated in the Arkansas Drug Take Back event on Saturday, Oct. 26 from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m.

The department collects 74.5 pounds of prescription medications that were turned in by citizens.

“We are grateful to do what we can to ease the problem of prescription misuse, fraud and diversion as well as helping to safely dispose of unused meds when there is no longer a need for them in the home,” Police Chief Greg Shapiro said. “We took in many non-opioid meds that would also be fatal if consumed by children.”

On Monday, Oct. 28, the WHPD delivered the drugs to Arkansas State Police Troop E Headquarters at Pine Bluff and submitted them to the DEA for disposal.
