White Hall junior running back Zaire Green has been named the Week Five Kevin Bonnette State Farm Jefferson County Player of the Week.

Green ran for 327 yards and three touchdowns in a 44-14 victory over Jacksonville.

He gave his thoughts on what it means for him to be named Player of the Week.

“It’s been a dream that I’ve had,” said Green. “I know I’ve just got to keep working and just continue to prove myself later in the season. I’ve just got to keep working to show people that this is possible for someone with my height and size.”

Green also spoke about the direction the White Hall football team is going in year two under head coach Bobby Bolding.

“It’s going well, we just have to keep executing,” said Green. “Things are good now, but we just have to keep executing on every single play and give it all every single day of practice, and just get after it.”

The Bulldogs will play Little Rock Christian Friday night, and Green said discipline could help them get a win.

“We have just got to execute and use discipline,” said Green. “We just have to go out and do what we have to do to win.”

He also gave his thoughts on what he believes this Bulldog football team is capable of in 2020.

“I think we are capable of winning a state championship,” said Green. “If we all work as one and get after it on both sides of the ball, we can win it all.”
