After being involved in education for 46 years, 40 of them in the White Hall School District, Superintendent Doug Dorris has decided to retire.
Dorris announced his plans during a meeting of the White Hall School Board Tuesday night and appeared on the Oldies 101.3 morning show Wednesday to talk about his decision.
When Dorris became Superintendent, he signed a one-year contract, and has worked on one-year contracts for each of the five years he has been in the position.
As Superintendent, he has overseen the district’s COVID response and talked about that.
Dorris was asked what prompted his decision to retire now.
