While a circuit court judge in Northwest Arkansas has ruled that school boards do not have the authority to impose a mask mandate, a circuit judge in Central Arkansas said they do, and the Arkansas Supreme Court supported that ruling.

White Hall School District Superintendent Doug Dorris was a guest on the Oldies 101.3 morning show Thursday and was asked what was going on it his district regarding masks.

At its board meeting earlier this week, the school board approved a new policy for masks to be effective Jan. 7 and Dorris talked about that.

Dorris also discussed a pilot program that the State Department of Education has instituted in four schools in Northwest Arkansas regarding quarantine measures for students.
