With much talk around the state about what Governor Sarah Huckabee Sanders is proposing for education, Deltaplex News decided to ask someone who will be affected.

Gary Williams, the Superintendent of the White Hall School District was a guest on the oldies 1013 morning show Tuesday and asked his thoughts on what the governor is going to do.

One of the things Sanders has talked about is the use of vouchers and Williams was asked if that plan would concern public schools.

Sanders has also proposed raising the starting salary for teachers from the state minimum of $36,000 to $50,000 and Williams said. At the same time, that is a significant increase, it will affect veteran teachers less than those just starting out.

The starting salary for teachers in the White Hall District is $40,500.
