At its most recent meeting, the White Hall School Board approved changes to the district’s salary schedule to reward veteran teachers.
District Superintendent Gary Williams talked about those changes when he appeared on the Oldies1013 Morning Show.
Morning Show host Greg Horne said the Learns Act mandated a starting salary of $50,000 for new teachers but left out teachers who have been there a long time.
Horne said not every district can afford to do what the White Hall district did and told Williams “that’s a lot on your plate and a lot on the school board’s plate.”
