White Hall Bulldog senior RB Donte Buckner has been named the Kevin Bonnette State Farm Deltaplex Radio Jefferson County Week Seven Player of the Week.

Buckner has been the bell cow of the Bulldog offense this season, and put forth a phenomenal effort last week in a 28-19 victory over the Watson Chapel Wildcats.

The Bulldogs relied heavily on Buckner and used him to help keep the ball on the ground while controlling the clock late in the second half.

White Hall head coach Bobby Bolding said his plan was to rely on Buckner once they took control of the game.

“Donte runs the ball hard,” said Bolding. “I told Coach Lovelady if we stop them right here, I want to come back in this personnel group right here and I want to grind them. I want to run right at them with Buck the whole way down the field if we can and we were able to. I think they got a little tired in the second half, and we just kind of laid on them a lot. We just kind of wore them down, and those three yard gains turned into six, and they turned into 16.”
