White Hall Police on Thursday recovered a car that had been reported stolen and arrested the driver who said she had been told she could keep it for 48 hours to test drive.

Krista Daniels, 28, was taken into custody after White Hall officers were sent to the Big Red Travel Plaza at 8110 Sheridan Road in reference to a White Ford with no license plate on the parking lot.

Reading from a probable cause affidavit from White Hall Investigator Clayton Cantrell, Deputy Prosecutor Lisa McGriff explained the allegation.

McGriff said Daniels never started the sales process and told police the salesman told her policy was test drives were 15 minutes but said she could keep the vehicle 48 hours and she took it joyriding.

Pine Bluff District Judge John Kearney set a $10,000 bond for Daniels Friday after ruling prosecutors have probable cause to charge her with theft by receiving.

Daniels said she would hire her own attorney.
