The Arkansas State Police is investigating a fatal accident that happened at 11:59 a.m. on Highway 365 just south of Morrison Road near Jefferson.
According to the report from the Arkansas State Police 52-year-old Robert Carpenter of White Hall was traveling south on Highway 365 on a motorcycle when he approached a 2016 Freightliner traveling north on Highway 365.
The report states the Freightliner attempted to turn into a private drive when it pulled into the path of Carpenter, who then struck the left front bumper of the Freightliner and was thrown from the motorcycle after impact.
Carpenter was pronounced deceased at the scene by Deputy Coroner Eric Belcher.
This is the 483rd reported fatality on Arkansas highways in 2021.
Road conditions were clear at the time of the accident.
