A White Hall man was arrested Sunday on drug-related charges after a traffic stop by White Hall Police.

Sean O’Neal, 40, was taken into custody after Officer Morgan Carter stopped the vehicle O’Neal was driving.

During a court hearing Tuesday, Deputy Prosecutor Beth Carson explained the stop.

White Hall Police Investigator Clayton Cantrell said the suspected drugs will be sent to the Arkansas State Crime Laboratory for analysis.

Carson told the court that O’Neal had a previous conviction for theft by receiving in 2010 for which he was placed on probation. That probation was revoked in 2011 after he received new charges of breaking or entering and theft of property. She said he also has an order of protection against him that was signed July 26 by Circuit Judge Mack Norton.

Jefferson County District Judge Kim Bridgforth set a $10,000 bond for O’Neal after ruling prosecutors have probable cause to charge him with possession of a controlled substance. The Public Defender’s Office was appointed to represent O’Neal and he was told to come back to court Sept. 10.
