A police investigation that began in September with a report of a stolen car being recovered led to the arrest of a White Hall man earlier this month.

During a court hearing Wednesday, Chief Deputy Prosecutor Will Jones said the owner of the vehicle reported it stolen Sept. 16 and then located it on the parking lot of Circle N but all the occupants had fled before police arrived.

Jefferson County District Judge Kim Bridgforth set a $5,000 bond for Parks, 19, after ruling prosecutors have probable cause to charge him with theft by receiving. Parks said he would hire his own attorney.
