$5,000 bonds were set Monday for a White Hall couple accused of leaving eight minor children alone at a house in White Hall Saturday.

Pine Bluff District Judge John Kearney set the bonds after ruling prosecutors have probable cause to charge Frederic Roberts, 39, and Kristen Siebs, 32, with endangering the welfare of a minor.

Deputy Prosecutor Jay Gerald told the court how the case began.

Gerard said the children ranged in age from 1 to 11 and when officers conducted a welfare check of the house, reported finding a crossbow and several knives. One child was found inside an unlocked vehicle which also contained a weapon.

White Hall Police reported that they asked the oldest child to contact their parents, but she couldn’t because she didn’t have a cell phone. After about 30 minutes, Siebs arrived and said Roberts was stilled at the turkey festival. She said they both had been at the festival, but the children knew not to go outside.

The children were turned over to DHS and Roberts and Sieb’s were ordered to have no contact with them until the case is settled.
