The Watson Chapel School District held its monthly board meeting on Monday evening at the Central Office to discuss various objectives and new updates of the activity within the district. Superintendent Jerry Guess spoke on the behalf of Assistant Superintendent Bill Tietz about new business updates,

This week the district is distributing the ACT test for 11th graders which is a free opportunity given every year, and the ACT Aspire Test that students will finish throughout the month of April. Kristy Sanders who’s over K-12 Curriculum included in her report the progress that has been made with testing,

Sanders also spoke about in-person learning and what the district is providing for virtual students,

Sanders further elaborated on a survey that the district distributed to parents about their choice in allowing their students to participate in virtual and they received a total of 77 responses preferring virtual learning. Out of those responses, 17 were from K-6 Students and 60 for 7th-12th grade students which is why they decided to provide the co-op opportunity.

Watson Chapel High School will have been hosting prom on April 30th and traditional graduation will be held at the convention center on May 11th with the mask mandate enforced for both events. The mask would be enforced due to Superintendent Guess and the school board voting to keep them within the district,
