Watson Chapel School District held a school board meeting Monday evening at the central office for the district. One of the key points on the agenda addressed the election of Officers which included the vote for the new superintendent. The board announced that Andrew Curry will succeed Jerry Guess as superintendent with hopes of meeting the needs of the district.

Curry is the former superintendent of the Deer/Mount Judea Schools in Newton County and will begin his duties after Guess steps down June 30th of this year.

The WC School District Board of Directors briefly discussed information in regards to the measures they are taking to create a more safe environment for the students and faculty. The members mentioned plans underway that have not been confirmed but assured the public, parents, and students that they are having discussions underway.
