Starks said work during the summer of his junior year led to the offer from the Hogs.

“It came about during my summer at the end of my 11th grade year,” said Starks. “I just had a breakthrough tournament and I just showed my potential, and they just liked that.”

Hence has a 94 MPH max fastball, 75-77 MPH curveball, 77-80 MPH changeup. He is a Top 60 nationally ranked pitcher. He also said it was a dream for him to sign with the Hogs.

“It is a really big deal,” said Hence. “Ever since I was little I used to go to the games, and it was always a big dream.  Once I got that chance to commit to the Hogs it wasn’t no question about going to the Hogs.”

Hence noted that action during his freshman summer helped to lead to the offer from the Razorbacks.

“My ninth grade summer I went to a tournament in Atlanta, and they was coming to watch,” Hence said. “We had people on our team already committed to the Hogs. They came to watch and they said the way I performed that they were interested. So, my 10th grade year in my first high school game they came to it. Then they offered me a visit, and two weeks later they offered.”
