After a couple of years of success in bringing back one of the most recognized high school basketball tournaments in the country, the King Cotton Holiday tournament, the games were canceled last year because of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Bringing the tournament back was one of the goals of the Go Forward Pine Bluff initiative and on Thursday, Ryan Watley, the CEO of Go Forward, was asked if it would be back this year.

Watley said safety must be the first consideration in efforts to hold the tournament but if people continue to be vaccinated for COVID and if mask mandates are successful, organizers will try to proceed.
