The 2021 King Cotton Holiday Classic basketball tournament at the Pine Bluff Convention Center wrapped up Wednesday night with teams from Arkansas winning both divisions and local teams recording wins as well.

When voters approved the five eights cent sales tax promoted by Go Forward Pine Bluff, one of the promises made was to bring back the tournament and on Thursday, Ryan Watley, the CEO of Go Forward Pine Bluff appeared on the Oldies 101.3 morning show and was asked if he felt like this years’ tournament was a success.

A big part of the preparation for the tournament involved security, ensuring that visitors would feel safe coming to the city.

Watley was also asked about the talent level this year.

Several of the teams that played in this year’s tournament had been here before and Watley talked about that.
