Foo Fighters have released a video of Dave Grohl‘s performance of “Everlong” from last weekend’s Oates Song Fest 7908, a virtual concert hosted by Hall & Oates member John Oates and his wife, Aimee.

Before playing an unplugged version of the Foo classic, Grohl shared the story about how the song came together, including how his strumming pattern was based on his drumming background. He also explained why he began playing the song acoustically.

You can watch Grohl’s story and performance streaming now on YouTube.

Oates Song Fest 7908 also featured Sammy Hagar and The Grateful Dead‘s Bob Weir, among many other artists. The stream raised money for Feeding America.
