Victim identified in Pine Bluff’s 12th homicide of 2020

UPDATE 9:45 a.m: The victim has been identified as 43-year-old James Williams, Jr.

Williams, Jr. Was pronounced deceased at 3:15 a.m. by Deputy Coroner April Davis due to multiple gunshot wounds to the upper body.

His body will be sent to the medical examiner today for an autopsy.

ORIGINAL STORY: The Pine Bluff Police Department is in the early stages of investigating a homicide.

On May 23 around 1:45 a.m., Officers were dispatched to the 1900 block of Mulberry in reference to a male down. Officers arrived on scene and found an unresponsive male with apparent gunshot wounds.

He was pronounced deceased on the scene.

The victim’s identity is being withheld pending notification to the next of kin.

There was no suspect information or motive at the time of this release.

This is the city’s 12th homicide.
