Victim identified following Thursday night homicide on Eva Road

UPDATE 8:15 A.M.

Jefferson County Coroner Chad Kelley has identified Thursday night’s homicide victim as 33-year-old Anthony Alexander.

Alexander was pronounced deceased at the scene by Deputy Coroner Eric Belcher.

UPDATE 6:30 A.M.

Charlie Irvin

51-year-old Charlie Irvin has been arrested in connection to Thursday night’s homicide.

Irvin is being charged with Capital Murder and tampering with or altering physical evidence.

UPDATE 9:07 P.M.

The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigation Division (CID) is currently in the early stages of a homicide investigation.

On Thursday, April 7, 2022 at approximately 6:56 p.m. Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office Deputies were dispatched to a residence located in the 3100 block of Eva Drive near the Hardin Community in regards to a shooting.  Upon arrival they discovered an unresponsive male who had been shot.  The victim was pronounced deceased at the scene by Jefferson County Deputy Coroner Eric Belcher.

The identity of the victim is not being released at this time pending further investigation and notification of next of kin.  The body will be sent to the Arkansas State Crime Laboratory for an autopsy to determine cause and manner of death.

A person of interest who was at the scene has been detained.  The investigation is active and ongoing by the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigation Division.

Thursday April 7 2022 7:37 P.M.

The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office has informed Deltaplex News that they are investigating an incident close to Hwy 104 and Eva Road involving gun shots that has left at least one person dead in Jefferson County.

Jefferson County Sheriff deputies and the Jefferson County Coroners office are on the scene.  We will have more details this evening as details are released.
