Victim and Suspect identified following Friday night homicide

UPDATE MONDAY 8:00 AM:

The Pine Bluff Police Department has arrested 34-year-old Ronald L. Spraglin of Pine Bluff in connection to Friday night’s murder in the 2200 Block of West 10th Ave.

Spraglin is being held on charges of First Degree Murder after police say he killed 61-year-old Willie Buckley, also of Pine Bluff.

This is the 14th homicide for 2022 in Pine Bluff.

ORIGINAL STORY:

The Pine Bluff Police Department is investigating a Friday night homicide that happened shortly before 11:00 p.m.

A press release says officer responded to a reported shooting at a residence in the 2200 block of West 10th Ave. where they found an adult male in the residence that was later pronounced dead at the scene.

Officers were able to identify a suspect and took them into custody.  

A firearm was recovered, however the motive is unknown.

The suspect will be identified once they are booked on charges.      

The victim’s name is being withheld pending the notification of next of kin.  His body will be sent to the state crime lab to determine an official cause and manner of death.
