Usher’s Las Vegas show is for the ladies.
In a new interview with GQ, the singer says he put the Usher: My Way show together with girls’ nights in mind.
“I really wanted to give women something to look forward to, something to come here to Las Vegas with their friends for,” he says. “They’ve been saving up all year and were able to manage to get away from their kids or get away from their problems.”
Usher continues, “No really! They come out and really enjoy themselves for the entire weekend. They want to be able to really get away and have an experience.”
The residency is about to kick off a new string of dates at Dolby Live at Park MGM on Friday; the show currently has dates through October. Usher tells GQ doing the residency has reinvigorated his creativity and hints that more new music may be on the way.
“I’m feeling inspired again, to now launch new music and also to continue to keep this phenomenon going,” he says.
Last week, he teased his new single, “GLU.” His last album, Hard II Love, came out in 2016.
