The fire in this area has been contained.UPDATE 12:38 A.M.According to scanner traffic Grant county law enforcement has reopened Grant County Road 51. Citizens with homes in the area can return home at this time.UPDATE 11:00 P.M.The fire that jumped Grant County Road 57 putting structures in danger has been suppressed. No structures are in danger at this time along Grant County Road 57.Firefighters are still battling blazes near the Corinth Baptist Church and along Grant County Road 51.No other information is available at this time. UPDATE 10:15 P.M.Grant County Law Enforcement agencies are actively evacuating all residents on the north end of Grant County Road 57 due to the ongoing fire.No other information is available at this time.UPDATE 8:36 P.M.Grant County law enforcement will be conducting mandatory evacuations in the area of the 1500 Block of Grant County Road 51 up to the 1000 block of Grant County Road 57.A large wildfire has ignited in the area and structures are in danger. Multiple fire departments and forestry are beginning work to battle the blaze.There are reports on scanner traffic of flames up to 70 foot high with this fire. UPDATE 7:15 P.M.Sheridan Fire Department Chief Ben Hammond tells Deltaplex News that 450 to 500 acres of forrest have been burned in the fire located near Grant County Road 51.No homes or businesses have been burned and there are no known injuries, according to Hammond.Hammond also reports the fire near Clearwater Lake along Highway 270 has been extinguished.Fire crews are still actively fighting the fire off of Grant County Road 51 at the time this update was published.No further information has been provided on the Grapevine fire.ORIGINAL STORY:Multiple fire departments, the forestry commission, and other agencies are actively fighting multiple wildfires in Grant county.The largest fire is between Highway 35 and Highway 167. Crews are working near the American Legion Veteran’s Memorial Park with a fire that is burning on both sides of Grant County Road 51.Crews are also fighting a wildfire near the Grapevine community near Grant County Road 143.A third fire is located in the Center Grove community near Clearwater Lake along Highway 270.At the time that this article was published there were no reports of injuries nor any reports of homes being damaged.Deltaplex News will update with more information as it becomes available.
