UAPB’s Fuller Named Stats Perform FCS/SWAC Defensive Player of the Week; Perry SWAC Co-Offensive POW

The University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff’s Andre Fuller was chosen as the Stats Perform FCS National Defensive Player of the Week for his performance in the Golden Lions 33-26 victory over Grambling State University.

Fuller had eight pass breakups including an intercepted pass at the Golden Lions’ four-yard line and return 95 yards to the Grambling State one. He had a total of nine passes defended to tie the FCS single-game record (Montana’s Anthony Goodwin, nine versus Portland State on Oct. 5, 2013). UAPB subsequently ran out the final minutes of regulation to hold on to the win.

Fuller also earned Defensive Player of the Week honors for the conference with his performance.

UAPB quarterback Skylar Perry was also recognized by the conference, garnering Co-Offensive SWAC Player of the Week honors.

Perry carried the Golden Lion offense, leading the team in both passing and rushing. He finished the night 11-22-163 yards with 2 touchdowns while rushing 15 times for 146 yards and 2 scores. The New Orleans, Louisiana native compiled over 300 yards of total offense in the win.
