UAPB Women Hoops Maya Pete Named BOXTOROW National Player of the Week

The University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff center Maya Peat was named BOXTOROW National Player of the Week earlier this week.

Peat, a native of Chandler, Arizona and the sister of New Orleans Saints left guard Andrus Peat, averaged 13.5 points, 17.5 rebounds, and shot 53 percent from the field in two wins for the Golden Lions last week. In the victory over Texas Southern (1/8/22) 13 points and 21 rebounds and Prairie View A&M (1/10/22). Peat scored 16 points, grabbed 21 rebounds against the Lady Panthers, and became the first in the program to have two-consecutive games with 20 or more rebounds.

Peat averaged 13.8 rebounds per game in the last four games and had back-to-back games with 21 rebounds.
