UAPB Volleyball Releases 2019 Schedule

The University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff head volleyball coach Chelsey Lucas has announced the Lady Lions’ 2019 schedule.

The schedule will feature 11 non-conference matchups, including four regular-season tournaments, one of which UAPB will host, with the entire tournament being played at H.O. Clemmons Arena.
Coach Lucas, who’s entering her first year at UAPB will kick off the season against Louisiana- Monroe, North Dakota St., and New Orleans at the UNO Invitational, hosted by the Privateers on Aug. 30-31.
The Lady Lions will match up against Memphis Sept. 6-7 at the Memphis Invitational, before returning to the natural state to take on the Arkansas Razorbacks in their first meeting between the two in-state programs in Fayetteville, AR.
UAPB will visit Jonesboro, AR. to participate in the Arkansas State tournament Sept. 13-14, which will feature games between Stephen F. Austin, Rice, and Arkansas State.
The Lady Lions will travel to face Tennessee St. in Nashville, TN., on Sept. 20 and Middle Tennessee Sept. 22 in Murfreesboro, TN., before participating in the SWAC Round-Up Sept. 27-29 in Prairie View, TX.
The Lady Lions will host Southern University of New Orleans and Fisk University Oct. 3 at the H.O. Clemmons Arena in their home opener.
UAPB welcomes Southern University to the H.O. Clemmons Arena Oct. 10, before going on the road for two consecutive games against Prairie View Oct. 13 and Texas Southern Oct. 14.
UAPB returns home Oct. 17 to host Grambling St. at the H.O. Clemmons Arena.  The team then will compete in the second SWAC Round-Up Oct. 25-27 in Jackson, MS.
The following weekend, UAPB will travel to Southern Mississippi for a match on Nov. 1 and Nov. 7 to face Southern University.
Action returns to the H.O. Clemmons Arena when the Lady Lions host Prairie View Nov. 10 and Texas Southern Nov.11 for Senior Day.
UAPB wraps up the 2019 regular season at Grambling St. Nov. 14 before the Southwestern Athletic Conference Volleyball Tournament, which begins on Nov. 22-23 at Mississippi Valley St. in Itta Bena, MS.
