UAPB VOLLEYBALL 2021 FALL SCHEDULE ANNOUNCED
After a historic season for the Lady Lions’ volleyball team, the 2021 schedule has been announced by head coach Chelsey Lucas.
The Lady Lions will open their season on Aug. 27 against Arkansas in the Arkansas Invitational in Fayetteville, Ar. UAPB will also face Arkansas-Little Rock and Louisiana Tech on Aug. 28, as part of the tournament. The following week, the Lady Lions travel to St. Louis, Mo., for the Billiken Invitational on Sept. 3-4, competing against Murray State, Saint Louis and Arkansas State.
UAPB will then match up with Lamar and Northwestern State on Sept. 10, in the Lamar Invitational in Beaumont, TX. The Lady Lions will rematch with Arkansas-Little Rock in the tournament, on Sept. 11.
After hosting Lane and Talladega on Sept. 14 and 22, UAPB begin their conference play with three home games. The Lady Lions will host Grambling State on Sept. 27, followed by Southern and Alcorn State on Oct. 3-4.
In the first round of the SWAC Cluster, UAPB will travel to Jackson, Ms., to battle against Alabama A&M, Mississippi Valley State and host Jackson State on Oct. 9-10. The Lady Lions later get tested on the road with back to back conference games at Prairie View and Texas Southern on Oct. 17-18.
UAPB returns home on Oct. 22 to face Philander Smith, followed by hosting the Roar Classic, matching up against Arkansas-Monticello and Arkansas-Fort Smith on Oct. 26.
Wrapping up the non-conference slate, the Lady Lions enter the second half of conference play, facing Bethune-Cookman, Alabama State and Florida A&M in the SWAC Cluster second round on Oct. 30-31 in Grambling, La.
UAPB heads back to Louisiana for road tests at Grambling State and Southern on Nov. 4 and 7. The Lady Lions will play their final road game on Nov. 8 at Alcorn State. The Lady Lions welcome Texas Southern and Prairie View to H.O. Clemmons Arena on Nov. 14 and 17 for the final two home games of the season.
The 2021 SWAC Volleyball Championship will be held Nov. 19-21 in Huntsville, Al.
Before the regular season gets underway, UAPB will host Ouachita Baptist and Henderson State in exhibition matchups on Aug. 23.
