UAPB Softball Lady Lions Shutout Southern Behind Green’s 11 Strikeouts

PINE BLUFF, Arkansas — Sydney Green was dealing on Monday, tossing a three-hit shutout to lead the Lady Lions over the Southern Lady Jaguars 4-0.

Green went the distance for UAPB, giving up three hits, walking six and striking out 11.

Paola Rodriguez led the way offensively for the Lady Lions, going 1-for-2 in the ballgame with a home run and an RBI. Layla Strouder put together a standout effort as well, going 1-for-3 with a double and two RBIs.

HOW IT HAPPENED

The Lady Lions took the lead for good in the second, scoring for the first time in the inning. Rodriguez put UAPB on the board with a two-out solo home run.

The Lady Lions then tacked on runs in the third inning when they scored three times. Two of those three runs scored on a two-RBI double from Strouder.
