UAPB Softball Defeats Lady Jags In Game Two

Pine Bluff, Ark. – The University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff Softball team defeated Southern University in game two of a three-game series 3-1 at the Torii Hunter Softball Complex Saturday afternoon.

The Lady Lions got off to a slow start before the bats started to warm up.  In a scoreless game in the fifth inning, Dominique Humphrey blasted a solo home run left center to give UAPB a 1-0 lead.   Alexandria Taylor would then single up the middle, stole second, and then scored on an error to give UAPB a 2-0 lead.

The Lady Lions would add on another run in the bottom of the sixth inning when Humphrey single to left field, scoring Shanice Akins, who got on with a walk for a 3-0 lead.
Karia Hall threw a complete game, allowing four hits, one run, and eight strikeouts.

Dominique Humphrey led the Lady Lions at the plate going 2-for-3, with two RBI, followed by Alexandria Taylor going 1-for-3 with one run.
