UAPB Softball Announces 2022 Schedule
The University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff softball program has announced its schedule for the upcoming 2022 season.
The 2022 slate returns another loaded schedule to a full 48 games and includes 17 contests at the Torii Hunter Softball Complex.
The Lady Lions will open the season in the Lady Demon Classic held in Natchitoches, LA, February 11-13 against Northwestern St., UT Martin, Chattanooga, and Baylor.
The Lady Lions will travel to Jefferson City, MO the following week to face both Lincoln and Harris-Stowe State twice on February 18-19 in the Lincoln University Tournament.
UAPB will play in back to back tournaments in Conway, AR in the Michelle Short Memorial Classic, February 25-26, playing against UCA, Kansas City, and New Orleans (2 games), and the Adam Brown Tournament, against both UCA and Belmont twice on March 5-6.
The Lady Lions will travel to Memphis, TN to face Memphis on March 8.
UAPB will open their home campaign with five straight home games, starting with a three-game series against Southern to open conference play, March 11-12, and a doubleheader against Southern Miss, March 16.
The Lady Lions will hit the road for conference play against Texas Southern (March 18-19) in a three-game series before traveling to Martin, TN on March 22 to take on UT Martin in a doubleheader.
UAPB’s additional conference home weekends consist of series against Prairie View A&M (March 25-26), Alcorn St. (April 8-9), and Texas Southern (April 22-23), and the remaining home non-conference matchups will be against Central Baptist College (March 29) and Ouachita Baptist (April 12).
The Lady Lions conference road games also include weekends at Grambling St. (April 1-2), Prairie View A&M (April 15-16), and Southern (April 29-30).
The SWAC Softball Championship will be held May 10-13 at the Gulfport Sportsplex in Gulfport, MS.
