UAPB Soccer: Tiana Johnson Hat Trick Lift Lady Lions Over Prairie View A&M

PINE BLUFF, — The University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff soccer team got a hat trick from freshman Tiana Johnson in a 4-1 win over Prairie View A&M Friday evening at home at Pumphrey Soccer Complex.

The win improved the Lady Lions record to 7-7-0 overall and 2-1-0 in SWAC action.

How it Happened

UAPB opened the scoring when Johnson scored her 11th goal of the season in the fifth minute, assisted by SWAC Preseason Offensive Player of the Year Natalie Freeman. The Lady Lions scored again on a goal from Johnson — her 11th goal of the season — in the 34th minute, assisted by freshman Amya Callicutt.

Prairie View got on the board to make it a 2-1 game on Angie Vaca’s 51st-minute goal.

The Lady Lions made it a 3-1 lead with a 59th-minute goal from Freeman, her seventh goal of the season. Junior Iyana Hicks assisted the goal.

UAPB added to its lead to make it a 4-1 game on Johnson’s 11th goal of the season in the 89th minute, assisted by Callicutt. The goal ended the 4-1 game.
