PINE BLUFF, AR – The University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff got a pair of goals from Ashley McGuire in a 4-0 shutout win over Central Baptist on Thursday in their home opener.
UAPB improved to 1-1-0 overall following the victory, earning their first win of the season and marking the first career win from head coach Jayme Selph.
How it Happened
Ark.-Pine Bluff broke the scoreless tie when Ashley McGuire scored her second goal of the season in the seventh minute.
The Lady Lions grabbed a 2-0 advantage on a goal from Denisse Quintanilla — her first goal of the season — in the 40th minute, assisted by Ashley McGuire.
Ark.-Pine Bluff went up 3-0 on Alexis Dugan’s 44th-minute goal, her first of the season. Iyanah Hicks assisted the goal.
The Lady Lions made it a 4-0 lead with a 75th-minute goal from Ashley McGuire, her second goal of the season. Dugan assisted the goal. The goal ended the scoring in the game.
