UAPB Soccer Announces 2022 Schedule
PINE BLUFF, AR. – The University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff women’s soccer head coach Erik Solberg announced its 2022 fall schedule on Sunday, a slate featuring eight-home games at Pumphrey Soccer Complex for the last year, before opening up at their new complex in the fall of 2023.
The Lady Lions will open up their season on the road against Arkansas St. (Aug. 18) and will host Central Baptist College at home (Aug.22).
UAPB will stay on the road for two non-conference contests against Tarleton St. (Aug.25) and Little Rock (Aug. 28) before welcoming Lyon College to Pumphrey Soccer Complex (Aug.31).
The Lady Lions will wrap up their road non-conference slate in mid-September with five straight road matches at North Alabama (Sept. 4), Oral Roberts (Sept. 8), Tulsa (Sept. 11), Jarvis Christian (Sept. 13), Williams Baptist College (Sept. 15), and will close out at home against North Dakota St. (Sept. 18).
UAPB will open conference (SWAC) action on the road versus Southern U. (Sept. 23) and Jackson St. (Sept. 25).
The Lady Lions will return home for conference play against Prairie View A&M (Sept. 30) and Texas Southern (Oct. 2) before heading to Alabama for a two-game stretch against Alabama A&M (Oct. 7) and Alabama St. (Oct. 9).
With three key conference matchups remaining that could determine the outcome of seeding in the conference tournament, it could very well work in the Lady Lion’s favor. UAPB will host their remaining three key matches at home, starting with Alcorn St. (Oct. 14), Mississippi Valley St. (Oct. 16) for Senior Day, and Grambling St. (Oct. 28)
The Southwestern Athletics Conference tournament will begin Nov. 3-6 in Prairie View, Texas, with the top-eight seeds qualifying.
