UAPB Mens Hoops Doss Named First-Team All-SWAC

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff men’s basketball player Shaun Doss Jr. has been named as a Southwestern Athletic Conference First-Team All-SWAC selection in league honors announced Tuesday.

Doss (6-5, 185; R-Jr.; Marion, Ark.) ranks in the SWAC’s Top 15 in six categories: scoring (16.3 ppg/4th), rebounding (6.5/t-5th), FG% (39.1/6th), FT% (68.6/8th), blocks (0.7 bpg /t-11th), and minutes (34.2 mpg/4th).

Doss, a two-time SWAC Player of the Week, was one of only two players in the SWAC this season (Alabama A&M’s Jalen Johnson) to rank in the top five in both scoring and rebounding.

Doss scored in double figures 20 times this season, including eight 20+ point games and one 30+ point game. He tallied a career high 31 points along with 10 rebounds, three assists and two steals in a Jan. 9 win over Alabama State. In Friday’s regular-season finale at Miss. Valley State, Doss scored 24 points with a career-high 14 rebounds in the win.
