The University of Arkansas At Pine Bluff men’s basketball lost in Southwestern Athletic Conference play for the first time, losing 88-53 at Southern.

The Golden Lions (3-9, 2-1 SWAC) had two players score in double figures, led by Shaun Doss Jr.’s 18 points along with three rebounds and two steals. Joshuwan Johnson tacked on 16 points and was a perfect 11-of-11 at the free-throw line.

UAPB got off to a cold-shooting start which led to a cold-shooting game. The Golden Lions made six field goals in each half as Southern made 11 three-pointers en route to the win.
