UAPB Golf Impress in Second Round at PGA Collegiate Minority Championship

Philadelphia, PA. – The University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff men’s golf team came back in round two of the PGA Collegiate Minority Golf Championship to show their true talents and capabilities at the Union League Golf Club at Torresdale.

After totaling a 7- over par 295 for round one and 17 – over par 297 for round two, the Golden Lions roared a strong statement for the quest for the PGA Minority Championship.

The Golden Lions improved their position from the fourth spot in round one to clinch the top spot in round two, bypassing the defending tournament champion, Howard Bison by three-strokes at one of collegiate golf’s most competitive tournaments.

Patrick Mwendapole ended his day as the top individual in second place for UAPB, carding 3-over for 143. Jamie Moliner rounded out the top five, tied for fourth, shooting 4-over for 146.

Grayson Martin placed 19th, going 10-over 152, followed by Joshua McCray in the 20th slot, shooting 12-over for 154. Nikolas Pitiris rounded out the top 25, finishing day two tied for 24th, 13- over for 155.

UAPB will return back in action for round three of the PGA Collegiate Minority Golf Championship.  All teams will tee off at 10 a.m. ET.
