UAPB Golf: Golden Lions Clinched Second At The Bridgestone HBCU Invitational
Suwanne, GA.- The University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff men’s golf team recently participated in the Bridgestone HBCU Invitational, finishing in second place at the Laurel Spring Golf Course.
The Golden Lions scored a total of 885, with rounds of 302, 286, and 297. This marks the third consecutive invitational in which the team has placed in the top two. Two UAPB golfers achieved top 15 finishes: sophomore Timur Alalin tied for sixth place with a score of +6 over par (74, 72, 73 – 219), while sophomore Jules De Reu tied for 12th place with a score of +9 over par (78, 74, 70 – 222).
Freshman Juan Melida continues to impress at the collegiate level, tying for 16th place with a score of +8 over par (69, 73, 82 – 224).
Sophomore Jose Berenguel tied for 18th place, finishing with a score of +12 over par (81, 69, 75 – 225). Freshman Jonathan Baumann tied for 30th place with a score of +16 over par (81, 72, 79 – 232), achieving his best performance in the second round.
