UAPB Football Regular Season Finale Cancelled vs TSU
The University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff’s football squads’ regular season finale against Texas Southern University has been cancelled due to Covid Protocol within the Texas Southern program. The game was scheduled to be played Saturday, April 24th, at Simmons Bank Field.
The Golden Lions are coming off a 36-31 victory over Prairie View A&M last weekend, that clinched the Southwestern Athletic Conference Western Division Title for UAPB for the first time since 2012. Pine Bluff ranks 25th in the FCS Coaches Poll, 24th in the Stats Perform FCS Top Poll, and 2nd in both the BOXTOTOW FCS HBCU Coaches and Media Polls behind Alabama A&M, the SWAC Eastern Division Champion.
The Alabama A&M game versus Mississippi Valley State has been also cancelled due to a Covid situation within the MVSU program. The Golden Lions will await a decision from the SWAC office on where the conference championship game will be played.
