UAPB Baseball: Simon Collects 5 Hits In The Golden Lions Victory Against Grambling
GRAMBLING, La. –Junior Brandon Simon collected five hits to help propel the Golden Lions past the Grambling Tigers 17-7 on Sunday.
Junior Brandon Little picked up the victory out of the bullpen for UAPB. The right-hander went 3.2 innings, giving up one run on one hit, allowing three walks and striking out four.
In addition to his five hits, Simon had a double, a home run, a walk and four RBI to lead the Golden Lions. Sophomore MicKyren Bentley put together a standout effort as well, going 3-for-5 with a home run and four RBI. Junior Karsten Vasquez also helped out for UAPB, putting together two hits in five trips to the plate while adding a double, a home run, a walk and three RBI.
HOW IT HAPPENED
The Golden Lions scored in six different innings on the way to victory. UAPB broke a 6-6 tie and took the lead for good at 9-6 in the sixth inning on sophomore Dylan Jutze’s three-run homer off of senior Emir .
