SeArk College recently announced they would add athletics that will compete in the National Junior College Athletic Association, and some UAPB fans have expressed concern that SeArk may be trying to compete against UAPB in athletics.

SeArk College athletic director Chad Kline and President Dr. Steve Bloomberg have stated that there are no intentions to compete against UAPB, and recently UAPB athletic director Chris Robinson agreed with those sentiments.

Robinson told Deltaplex News that the two schools can not only help one another with things like a sign and place for athletes UAPB wants that may need some further athletic or academic development, but the two universities can also help the City of Pine Bluff.

Robinson said that both Universities will continue to meet to discuss ways they can help one another in multiple areas, especially with his previous relationship with new SeArk College Dean of Students KaLisa Stanfield being on board.

UAPB women’s basketball made it to the SWAC championship game this year, making them the first team in school history to make the championship game. Robinson spoke about the job head coach Dawn Thornton and her ladies are doing.

Robinson also spoke about new head football coach Alonzo Hampton, and how he is working early on to help improve UAPB football.
