UAMS Hosting Hands-On Program Sept. 14 to Inspire Young Women to Become Orthopaedic Surgeons

WHAT:            The University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (UAMS) orthopaedic surgeons will teach 40 central Arkansas high school students to suture, cast and repair fractures as part of the Perry Outreach Program, a two-day course of workshops and lectures.

The course is a program of The Perry Initiative, a national nonprofit that aims to increase the number of women in orthopaedics and engineering through hands-on outreach programs targeted to female students in high school, college and medical school.
