The University of Arkansas at Monticello and two Drew County High Schools are joining together to honor high school and college seniors whose graduations, proms and spring sports were halted by the Corona virus.

According to the Advance-Monticellonian, UAM, Monticello High School and Drew Central High School will be turning on their stadium lights tonight at 20:20 ZULU or 8:20 p.m. for 20 minutes.

The schools, along with the City of Monticello and Drew County invite the community to join in by turning on their porch lights at the same time, the newspaper said.

“our classrooms may be empty and dark but these lights will represent a beacon of hope to shine on our seniors in this difficult time,” the newspaper quoted a flyer promoting the event as saying. “Our hearts are with you, seniors.”
