UAM GOES DOWN IN STRAIGHT SETS

MONTICELLO, Ark. – After battling to the wire in the opening set, the University of Arkansas at Monticello volleyball team struggled to keep pace in sets two and three against Harding. The Blossoms had the score tied late in the first set before ultimately losing it and dropping sets two and three to take the 3-0 loss at Tuesday Steelman Field House.

UAM (2-4) jumped out to the early lead in the first holding as large as a six point advantage. The Lady Bisons (5-0) scored five straight to cut it to one. The Blossoms responded as the two teams exchanged points until Harding made another 5-0 run to take the lead 21-18. UAM didn’t go away knotting the score at 22 and 24 before surrendering the final two points to drop the set 26-24.

The second and third sets were a different story for the Blossom falling behind from the start. UAM lost both sets 25-13 ultimately falling 3-0 to Harding.

Katie Pearson posted 18 assists to lead UAM while also picking up nine digs.

Defensively, the Blossoms were led by Isabelle Combs andKatelyn Richbourg who registered 17 and 10 digs, respectively.
