Two Pine Bluff women were arrested Sunday and Monday, one for chasing the other with a knife and the second for threatening to kill the first with a gun.

Vickie Lindsey, 40, and Roshell Broom, 38, appeared in court Wednesday where District Judge John Kearney ruled prosecutors have probable cause to charge Lindsey with aggravated assault and Broom with terroristic threatening.

Deputy Prosecutor Beth Carson told the court the circumstances that led to Lindsey’s arrest.

When Lindsey was questioned, she said Broom was supposed to pay for the broken phone, and when she didn’t, Lindsey said she got a knife and chased Broom because she was mad and was trying to scare her.

Carson said Lindsey has a previous conviction on hot check charges from 2012 and a $10,000 bond was set for her.

The court then took up the allegations against Broom, with Carson reading from an affidavit from Detective Mike Merritt.

When Broom was interviewed, she said she had her gun but denied threatening to kill Lindsey.

A $5,000 bond was set for Broom who Carson said had no prior convictions or pending charges.
