Two Jefferson County residents were killed in separate traffic accidents Saturday.

According to preliminary reports from the Arkansas State Police, the victims were Summer Lynn Harris, 25, of Pine Bluff and Sara Cansler, 21, of Redfield.

Harris died when the 2011 Honda Civic she was driving left Interstate 530 at a high rate of speed and hit a large tree head-on. That accident was reported at the 10-mile marker in Saline County at 11:43 a.m.

The Arkansas State Police have now updated the preliminary accident involving Cansler to reflect that she was the driver of a 2017 Chevrolet Cruze that crossed the center line and hit a 2016 GMC Sierra driven by Riley Spann, 24, of Sheridan.

Cansler was transported to UAMS where she was pronounced dead.

The initial report from the State Police reversed the drivers of the two vehicle and Deltaplex News received a number of calls beginning just after the story was posted.

Spann and a juvenile male who were in his vehicle were both injured and taken to UAMS for treatment.

According to the preliminary reports, it was raining and the roadways were wet at the time.

NOTE: DeltaplexNews.com originally reported that Sara Cansler was driving the 2016 GMC Sierra, and not the 2017 Chevy Cruze as we are now reporting. This is due in fact to an incorrect report by the Arkansas State Police. We have updated the story to reflect the correct information that has been released by the Arkansas State Police within the last half hour.

We are also attaching both the original police report, and the updated police report in the section below to show this.
